MEET THE DOCTOR

Dr. Raina L Chang, DACM, LAc

Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

Licensed Acupuncturist (WA, HI)

Certified Holistic Nutritionist

Dr. Chang was born in Kailua, HI and moved to Washington State with her family where she graduated from Washington State University with a major in Speech and Communication. After spending time traveling and living in various places, she went back to school and received her Masters in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, OR. She continued on to complete her doctorate at the Pacific College of Health Sciences in San Diego, CA.

Her passion for medicine began at a young age as both of her parents worked in health care. In high school she became a licensed medical assistant and worked for allopathic physicians at a medical clinic in Walla Walla, WA. During this time she worked with Dr. Barton Moore, an advocate for the importance of proper levels of Vitamin D to maintain optimum health, long before it became the well known issue spoken about today. She also became proficient in patient care, analyzing routine lab work, and assisting out patient surgical procedures.

Following graduation with her Master's degree she spent two months in Nepal treating local Nepali people living in the rugged mountains. During this time she combined both Eastern and Western medicine in assessing and treating patients. Her work there primarily focused on pain conditions such as low back pain, knee pain, and elbow pain. Dr. Chang plans to continue doing medical work in third world countries as this is one of her passions.

Dr. Chang moved to the Tri Cities in 2019 and is committed to helping the community by providing the holistic healing of Traditional Chinese Medicine and educating patients on the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

When not working, you can find Dr. Chang spending time with family, traveling, tending to her ever-growing collection of houseplants, or playing with animals on the family farm.
