Dr. Raina L Chang, DACM, LAc

Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

Licensed Acupuncturist (WA, HI)

Dr. Chang was born in Kailua, HI and moved to Washington State with her family where she graduated from Washington State University with a major in Speech and Communication in 2008. After spending time traveling and living in various places, she went back to school and received her Masters in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in 2019 in Portland, OR. She continued on to complete her doctorate at the Pacific College of Health Sciences in San Diego, CA in 2020.

Her passion for medicine began at a young age and when she was in high school she became a licensed medical assistant and worked for allopathic physicians at a medical clinic in Walla Walla, WA. She not only learned how to assist on procedures such as vasectomies, but became knowledgeable on various healthcare aspects that included urological health and the use of Western herbs and vitamins. After college, she worked for the Yakima Urology Associates in Yakima, WA, which helped to further her knowledge of urogenital conditions. Her passion is to help people suffering from such conditions to be able to live a happier, healthier life. During her clinical year she focused on treating patients suffering from erectile dysfunction, urinary incontinence, chronic urinary tract infections, and imbalances of the pelvic floor muscles.

Following graduation with her Master's degree she spent two months in Nepal treating local Nepali people living in the rugged mountains. During this time she combined both Eastern and Western medicine in assessing and treating patients. Her work there primarily focused on pain conditions such as low back pain, knee pain, and elbow pain. Dr. Chang plans to continue doing medical work in third world countries as this is one of her passions.

When not working, you can find Dr. Chang spending time with family, traveling, tending to her ever-growing collection of houseplants, or playing with animals on the family farm.
